In Barry’s words:
At the moment I am working on four different global projects. Three are commercial and one is simply a topic I believe needs to be discussed.
The first is a fantastic new sofa design that I have developed together with an architect. The exciting part of this sofa is that it is modular, and can be ordered in 30 different configurations and will be available in 9 different colours.
We are also in the process of designing a beautiful leather bed, nappa leather curtains and leather wall panels.
It’s a great feeling to be using our own cattle hides which up to now we have been selling to different manufacturers to produce furniture.
The second commercial project is an online interactive fun platform that has a global target and will encourage people with similar interests to connect with others, in a way that they never before had the opportunity. Yes, it’s also very unique, and our team of developers expect to be ready for launch after testing later in 2018.
The third project I am working on, which has been taking up most of my time recently, is designing and implementing a new semi-automated production line for a factory I own, which will give us the opportunity to process 200% more cattle hides and retain the staff levels we currently have. This will make our production costs very competitive and will set the business up in a secure and positive direction for many years to come.
I have built a website called Real Global Democracy, on which I posted a few articles to give the general feel of the way I would like to see the website develop. I am hoping to find a few journalists who have the same beliefs as myself to start contributing to the website and sharing its content with others. If this is you, please get in touch.
My main reason for building that website was to try and tackle some of the desperate, unnecessary problems in the world today, and I believe that the human race by and large is a sociable, caring species – and yet we have so much unequal opportunity across the world! The only reason I can think of for this is that there is too much power in the hands of too few people, and we need to try and improve this situation somehow.
It looks a little better now than it was even 10 years ago, thanks to improvements in technology. With Facebook sending drones into Africa to supply the Continent with an internet connection, and many other online advances, the future of equal opportunity might improve a lot over the next 10 years.
Our aim is to encourage this process along as best we can by coming up with new ideas and sharing others’ ideas. Equal opportunity should not be confused with equality, because there will never be equality, given that some folk are simply lazy, for example, but every child born should have equal opportunity regardless of nationality, colour or religion.
If you have any good original ideas, please share them with us.
I will update this page every two months.
